Soi Nguyen is a new star at the poker skies. The 37 years old player, who started playing at a relatively old age, has managed to squeeze himself into the most prestigious event in the world of poker – the WSOP main event final table, after only 4 appearances in poker live tournaments. Surprisingly enough, this was only his first appearance at the World Series of Poker. What a start for this talented player.
Although his appearance at the 2010 World Series of Poker final table was brief – he was eliminated early on, arriving 8th out at the WSOP main event is a huge accomplishment for any player, let alone an amateur like Nguyen.
Soi Nguyen hails from Vietnam and resides in Santa Ana, California where he currently works for a medical supplies company. With a hefty prize money of over $800K from his WSOP apprearance it will be a huge surprise if Nguyen keeps his day job. It really is a fairytale story for this modest amateur poker player who learnt to play with friends.
